Rethymnon Renaissance Festival 2009 - 12-22 July

Since 2008 the Rethymnon Renaissance has undergone a metamorphosis. For a short period Rethymnon gets transformed into a medieval Venetian town and plays host to world-class renaissance musicians. The programme also includes some theatrical performances of plays from the Renaissance era.

A spectacular opening ceremony kicks off the festivities, and the festival finishes with a similar closing ceremony. The theme of this year's ceremonies is 'water'.

More information about the Rethymnon Renaissance Festival can be found at www.rfr.gr

Please note that there is Free Entrance for all performances hosted by the Municipality for children up to the age of 18 years.
