Wine Festival

The 'Wine Festival' returns but not like we used to know it. Gone are the days where you pay an entrance fee, buy a jug and some glasses and drink as much wine as you like, whilst listening to Cretan Music and admire the Cretan dancing.

The city of Rethymnon has decided to revive the festival but with a completely new identity and content. Local producers will be presenting their quality products such as bottled wine, olive products, herbs, cheese etc.

The program will consist of many events, such as art exhibitions, traditional and modern music by local performers, educational and entertaining activities for children, distinguished speakers conducting seminars and lectures as well as the chance of wine and food tasting.

The idea is to highlight to residents and visitors, the interdependence of tourism with culture, tradition and gastronomy, together with the traditions of Crete.
